The Women’s Self-Help Group (SHG) Programme by our Foundation empowers rural women by organizing them into cooperative groups focused on savings and credit schemes. Through financial literacy, bookkeeping, and small business management training, women gain financial independence and develop leadership skills. The foundation also provides microloans to support the establishment of enterprises like dairy farming, vegetable vending, and crafts. For example, the SHG in Dindigul’s Perumal Kovil Street, originally a small group of 15 women, started a co-operative tailoring unit that now generates 50,000 in monthly profits. This success has inspired neighboring villages to form similar groups, creating a ripple effect of empowerment.
